Guardianship Civil Legal Services

TITLE: Civil Legal Services
PURPOSE:. The purpose of the Request for Proposal (RFP) is to solicit sealed proposals to establish and fund a Profession Services contract with a non-profit, non-governmental victim service Organization, including faith- based and other community organization based in New Mexico through competitive negotiations for direct Civil Legal representation for child abuse and neglect guardianship cases. The offer must provide direct civil legal representation at no cost to all eligible victims no matter their income bracket. Licensed attorneys with experience representing victims/survivors shall provide direct civil legal services including formal legal representation for issues associated with their victimization.

Intimate Partner Violence Death Review Team
Enacted under enabling legislation, 31-22-4.1, the purpose of the Intimate Partner Violence Death Review Team is to review the facts and circumstances of domestic and sexual violence related homicides in New Mexico, identifying the causes of the fatalities and their relationship to government and non-government service delivery systems and developing methods of domestic violence prevention. And, compiles an annual report with recommendations to the New Mexico legislators on areas to strengthen within the above mentioned systems of response in order to reduce the number of these fatalities.

The Civil Legal Services Grant was authorized by the Legislature to increase the availability of free civil legal services for victims of crime, such as protective orders and other legal assistance.
