Welcome to the New Mexico Crime Victims Reparation Commission (CVRC) Web site.
CVRC is dedicated to providing a variety of services to victims of crime. CVRC was formed in 1981 under the Crime Victims Reparation Act. Our primary mission is to provide financial assistance to victims of violent crime in regard to expenses incurred as a result of being victimized.
In addition to financial assistance for individual victims, CVRC also administers federal flow-through funding from the United States Department of Justice, Office for Victims of Crime (OVC). This funding is sub-granted to private non-profit and governmental programs throughout the State of New Mexico to improve and expand services to victims of crime. The two types of federal funding include the Victims of Crime Act (VOCA) grants and the Stop Violence Against Women Act (VAWA) grants.
In addition, CVRC publishes a quarterly newsletter
intended for those who work with victims of violent crime.
This newsletter is available only online. Also, CVRC provides training and outreach services throughout the state.
Please refer to our training calendar. Finally, every July during even numbered years CVRC hosts
a five-day Victim Advocate Training (VAT) available to victim advocates,
and every July during odd numbered years CVRC hosts an advanced Victim Advocate Training. During the Spring CVRC hosts the Annual Victim Advocacy Conference.
